MEDIA RELEASE - MICHELLE ROWLAND HOSTING GREENWAY NBN FORUM - 8 NOVEMBER 2017

Michelle Rowland MP, Federal Member for Greenway, will be hosting an NBN forum for local residents who are encountering issues with their internet service during the rollout of the National Broadband Network.

The forum will be held on Monday 20 November at the Blacktown Leisure Centre Function Room, Stanhope Gardens, and will run from 7pm-8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The forum will also be an opportunity for residents to have their say on the NBN rollout and provide feedback about their experiences.

Residents are also encourage to have their say through Michelle Rowland’s ‘Greenway NBN Survey’ which is running in the lead up to the forum and can be accessed via this link - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GreenwayNBNSurvey. The survey results will be presented at the forum.

Representatives from NBNCo, Telstra and Optus have been invited to attend and will be present on the night to assist with specific issues.

“The rollout of a second-rate National Broadband Network by the Turnbull Government has given rise to a significant number of issues for local residents,” Ms Rowland said.

“NBN complaints have become one of the most common concerns raised at my office, with issues ranging from constant drop-outs and slow speeds to missed appointments and connection faults,” Ms Rowland said.

“Many residents have shared with me their frustrations in having NBN issues resolved, stuck in limbo between NBNCo and their Retail Service Provider. This local NBN forum will be an opportunity for residents to raise issues directly with NBN and their service provider,” Ms Rowland said.

“Fast and reliable broadband is essential towards improving our quality of life – whether it’s running a small business, studying online or working in more flexible ways,” Ms Rowland said.

The forum is free to attend but spaces are limited. Residents can RSVP to attend by contacting Michelle Rowland’s office on (02) 9671 4780 or by emailing Michelle.Rowland.MP@aph.gov.au.
