MEDIA RELEASE - MICHELLE ROWLAND LODGES SUBMISSION TO COMMUTER CAR PARKING INQUIRY - 27 JULY 2017

27 July 2017

Michelle Rowland MP, Member for Greenway, is keeping up pressure on the State Government to improve commuter car parking at local train stations, lodging a submission to the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into commuter car parking.

The submission sets out the urgent need to address the chronic lack of commuter parking in Greenway, particularly in the North West Growth Area.

Ms Rowland has raised these issues on behalf of the scores of residents who are affected every morning by the lack of commuter parking, particularly at Quakers Hill Station and Schofields Station.

At Quakers Hill station the chronic lack of parking can be clearly seen, with cars parked throughout the streets surrounding the station.

Anyone interested in submitting further comments to the inquiry can contact Michelle Rowland’s office on 9671 4780 or [email protected] for further information. Submissions close 4 August 2017.

“Commuter car parking is one of the single biggest issues for people in my area. I have seen how quick the station carparks fill up in the morning,” Ms Rowland said.

“Quakers Hill Station is seeing increasing patronage every year and yet there is still a clear lack of parking, particularly on the north side of the station,” Ms Rowland said.

“I urge the NSW Government to heed the concerns of residents across Greenway through this submission and rapidly moves to increase commuter parking options for local residents,” Ms Rowland said.
