MEDIA RELEASE - OVER 10,000 NAPPIES COLLECTED IN GREENWAY FOR THE NAPPY COLLECTIVE! - 7 NOVEMBER 2017

07 November 2017

Michelle Rowland MP, Federal Member for Greenway, has thanked generous local residents for their overwhelming support of The Nappy Collective, with this round of donations exceeding 10,000 nappies!

The Nappy Collective program runs Australia-wide to collect unused leftover nappies. These nappies are then sorted and distributed to women’s shelters, programs for homeless mothers and young parents in need.

Through the support of donors across Australia, The Nappy Collective has collected and distributed over 2 million nappies to date.

This Nappy Collective drive ran from Monday 16 October and finished on Friday 27 October 2017, with Michelle Rowland’s office in Seven Hills acting as a drop off point for donations.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative over the past four years,” Ms Rowland said.

“Local residents have collected and donated over 10,000 nappies in the past few weeks, which is a huge achievement and will go a long way in helping parents and children in need,” Ms Rowland said.

“This year we again had very generous donations from residents who went out of their way to collect leftover nappies from their own supplies, friends and family. I was blown away by the amount of donations that filled my office in Seven Hills,” Ms Rowland said.
