I am delighted to extend my warmest wishes to the Tamil community in Greenway and across Australia as you celebrate Thai Pongal and observe Tamil Heritage Month.

Each year, Thai Pongal brings people together in gratitude for the new season and its promise of abundance and prosperity. The festival celebrates renewal and rejuvenation, and is a time to gather with family and friends.

Tamil Heritage Month is also an important opportunity to recognise the rich history, language and cultural traditions that continue to be cherished and passed on from generation to generation. These traditions remain central to the strength and identity of Tamil Australians.

I take great pride in the multicultural community I represent and am honoured to represent one of the largest Tamil communities in Australia. Your contributions help strengthen and enrich the multicultural fabric of our society both in Greenway and across Australia.

I send my very best wishes to all members of the Tamil community for a joyful Thai Pongal and a meaningful Tamil Heritage Month, filled with peace, happiness and prosperity.
